The Philadelphia Flyers are considered to be one of the best teams in the National Hockey League. This is because they have a solid team that runs their plays over and over again, making the teams players nearly invincible on the ice.
Unfortunately one of the flyers key players has been in due to a series of blood clots in his lower legs as well as both of his lungs. Kimmo Timonen has been sent to the best hospital for blood clot related issues in Finland where he will remain until the beginning of the NHL Season. Coaches hope that he will be able to play by the 2014-2015 season but if he can’t he will remain in hospital.
The Philadelphia Flyers made this announcement earlier on today saying that the defensemen’s return to the ice is uncertain as of right now. He will definitely play for the flyers again it is just uncertain if he will play at the beginning of this season or this season at all. Mr. Timonen was signed for a one year contract with the flyers for two million. He has played with the flyers for several years and before that he played with Nashville for eight years. During the course of his career as a professional hockey player he has had 571 Career Points, 117 Goals and 454 Assists. He is also one of the older players in the league as he is thirty eight years old.
